Our Story
Founded in 1998, Hatfield Post/Production (Hatpost) is based in Chicago and travels the world creating premiere visual content for organizations and outlets of all sizes.
OUR business is to help you reach YOUR communications goals with impact and style. We combine the flexibility and speed of broadcast journalists with the customer focus and creative quality that agency and corporate clients demand.
Whether it's commercials, brand documentaries, website materials, marketing or training videos, or even live-event showstoppers, we help you succeed with words and images that inspire your audience. Our passion is storytelling that delivers entertaining, informing and persuading messages.
We are experts in scaleable productions ranging from doc-style three-person crews to major commercials with all the bells and whistles. We pride ourselves on understanding client needs, meeting them efficiently – on time and on budget – and having fun along the way.

Founder and Director
Gabe started Hatpost in 1997 and is based in Chicago.
Gabe Hatfield is the Director of Photography for our projects but also spends many of his days shooting for broadcast outlets like Dateline NBC, the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, PBS, Big Ten Network and ESPN.
David McClain serves as both the Executive Producer and an editor. He has produced projects in over 20 countries and has led production crews of all sizes. Several of his productions have won awards.

Dave started at Hatpost in 1998 and is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Brian
Goad
Lead Editor
Brian started at Hatpost in 2002 and is based in Columbus, OH.
Brian Goad's main role is as Senior Editor. He has coordinated multiple on-site editing campaigns, and his work has appeared on broadcast and digital outlets. His editing work has received several awards.
He helped write the production book for Dateline NBC productions (pre and post Covid-19).
And, he has directed productions that have won both Emmys and New York Press Club awards.
When not on the road or coordinating production, he spends his time editing many of our projects.
He also moonlights as a still photographer with numerous magazine cover shots.
Brian can also be found on productions as a producer, audio tech, FAA licensed drone operator, photographer, gimbal and time-lapse operator, or whatever is needed.
He manages Hatpost's archives and runs their social media efforts.
